Is it progression if a cannibal uses a fork?

As I mentioned in yesterday’s blog post, I did a crazy shoot. Just building the set and getting the necessary props to quite a while, let alone the time spent on post production. I realized how big of a difference it can make for a photograph if you just put in the time to really think out exactly what it is you want going on an obtain the necessary props. I tried using colors very sparingly in this photo so it wouldn’t be too busy and the few items that I wanted would really stand out. For those of you that couldn’t tell, yes this had a huge Dexter influence. I love finding inspiration from other art and using it as a reference to create my own art. I can’t wait for the new season of Dexter, definitely my favorite show!

For those of you that care, I had a 3 light set up. Octobox directly to the right of the camera, beauty dish to the left of the picture frame, and a bare head bulb behind and to the right of the subjects. The location was my living room. The budget was $2.77 for some saran wrap.

Special thanks to Peter and Celine for modeling as well as Justin Davidoff and Austin for the photo assisting help!
