After doing the test shoot with Emily Becklund, I wanted to shoot a more conceptual underwater series. I think things went much smoother after getting the hang of shooting underwater and having goggles this time! My friend Mallory Jesser from Ford Models was kind enough to do it with me on a 50 degree cloudy day and the shots turned out great!
Here are some black and white studio shots from the day:

Crashed Landing Series
For the past few weeks I’ve been wanting to shoot a series and I finally found the time and right people to do so! I spent hours storyboarding, thinking of exactly what I wanted to do for the shoot.
I was fortunate enough to have Maggie Levin, a phenomenal costume designer/hair stylist/make up artist help out with the shoot! She did an amazing job of utilizing minimal resources to come up with a phenomenal outfit.
Mallory modeled for all of the shots and was super easy to work with even in the hot desert weather.
We started the yesterday at 6 AM, Maggie and Mallory put on make up and got her hair ready. By 7:30 we had breakfast and were out the door on our way to find a location. We did the shoot near Indio at the edge of this golf course we came across.
Here is a black and white shot without lighting or editing and then the edited first shot of the series:
After we did the first shot, we ran into some trouble with someone from the golf course since we didn’t have permission to be there. After some sweet talking and a trip to the pro-shop, we were good to go! Here is the second shot of the series both in black and white raw looking and edited:
After waiting for the wind to die down a little bit and changing some make up and hair, we did the third shot of the series:

After the shots in the desert, we came back, passed out, ate lunch, and did some fashion shots. I’ll post them soon :]
This shoot is one of my favorite shoots I’ve done to date. There’s nothing better than working with such great people and getting amazing photographs!

Yesterday I did a shoot with my friend Mallory Jesser. It’s always great working with people who model professionally since they already know how to pose. There wasn’t a theme for the shoot, though I was really happy with how everything turned out. I think we are going to do a whole surreal series soon, I can’t wait.
